It has been well documented that one of Fernando Alonso’s aims in his career is to achieve the Triple Crown of Motorsport, which consists of the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Indianapolis 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix.
Alonso had his first attempt at the Indianapolis 500 last season and will in 2018 race with Toyota in the upcoming WEC super season, which includes the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
However another Triple Crown contender has emerged with Juan Pablo Montoya having been confirmed to be racing at the Le Mans 24 Hours this year with the LMP2 United Autosports outfit. The same outfit that Alonso contested the 2018 24 Hours of Daytona.
Having attempted the Indianapolis 500 in 2017, this season will see Fernando Alonso resume his quest of achieving the Triple Crown of Motorsport (Indianapolis 500, Monaco Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans).
