The motorsport season edges ever closer. In order to warm up for the upcoming MotoGP season I have decided to identify some of the teams and riders worth keeping an eye on.
One of the biggest changes in MotoGP for 2016 is a change away from the 2016 grid where Australian and two time MotoGP champion, Casey Stoner, split with Honda and signed a deal with Ducati.
Stoner returns to the team that he won his first MotoGP title with in 2007 and spent four season with, switching to Honda in 2011 who he stayed with in some capacity until the end of 2015.
Almost immediately following the news that he had rejoined Ducati, speculation grew about whether the switch would lead to Stoner returning to the MotoGP grid in some races as a wildcard. These rumours however have since been quickly played down.
Nonetheless it will be interesting to see how the working relationship develops over 2016 and whether talk of wildcard rides return later in the year.
