Races during October

Before you know it another month has arrived, luckily with it there is some more motorsport action. Below is a weekend by weekend run through of some of the motorsport events this October.

3rd-4th October

The month starts with the Nascar Sprint Cup as it heads to Dover International Speedway. There is also the twelfth round of the World Superbike Championship as the series heads to Magny-Cours in France.

10th-11th October

This weekend sees Formula One head to Sochi for the Russian Grand Prix, whilst MotoGP heads to Motegi for the Japanese Grand Prix. Also in Japan will be the World Endurance Championship which will be contesting the six hours of Fuji.

Lastly, the Nascar Sprint Cup is also in action at the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500.

17th-18th October

MotoGP is in action once again, this time heading to Australia. The Formula Three European Championship hosts its season finale at the Hockenheimring, while Formula Renault 3.5 also host its last round of 2015 in Jerez, Spain.

The World Superbike Championship also holds its final race of 2015, at Losail in Qatar, while Nascar is in action at the Kansas Speedway.

The three season finales of Formula Three, Formula Renault 3.5 and World Superbikes have all already seen drivers or riders crowned the champion for 2015.

24th-25th October

Formula One returns to action as it heads to Austin for the United States Grand Prix. MotoGP is also in action for the third consecutive weekend as it heads to Malaysia.

Nascar meanwhile heads to the Talladega Super Speedway.

Lastly Formula E returns for its second season as it holds its opening round around the streets of Beijing.

31st October-1st November

I wasn’t sure whether to include this weekend in October or November so it will probably feature in both this post and a future post detailing Novermber’s racing events. This weekend will see Formula One in action as it returns to Mexico for the first time since 1992.

Meanwhile, the World Endurance Championship heads to China for the six hours of Shanghai and Nascar heads to Martinsville Speedway.

Wrap up

To draw this post to a close, there are once again a lot of racing taking place this month as many motorsport series begin drawing to a close, unless you’re Formula E.
