There were at least three different categories of racing that were held in Austria during the weekend. These were GP3, GP2 and F1.
It was a brilliant Saturday for Italian Luca Ghiotto as he claimed pole position in the morning and managed to take the win in the feature race in the afternoon. He led Antonio Fuoco and Esteban Ocon over the line.
The Sunday race saw Oscar Tunjo claim his first victory in the series having started ninth, finishing ahead of Marvin Krichhofer and Ocon. Although after the race Ocon was disqualified for a technical infringement meaning that the third place went to Ghiotto instead.
It was another weekend where Stoffel Vandoorne had a solid weekend, winning the feature race once again, his fourth consecutive feature race win. There were also strong races from Nobuharu Matsushita and Artem Markelov during the feature race, but the final two podium places were filled by Sergey Sirotkin and Alex Lynn.
On the Sunday it was another intense race as Markelov put pressure on race leader Rio Haryanto in the early stages before a late dive undid his race. This left it to Vandoorne to put pressure on Haryanto who held on to claim his second win of the 2015 season. There was also a very close battle between Matsushita and Sirotkin for the final podium place, which ended up going to Matsushita.
Lewis Hamilton managed to beat Nico Rosberg on Saturday in qualifying, however Rosberg managed to get the jump ahead of Hamilton at the start of the race, and thanks in part to a Safety Car after Raikkonen and Alonso collided, he managed to maintain his lead to win. Massa claimed the last podium place ahead of Vettel after the Ferrari driver suffered a problem during his only pit stop.
The next round for all three series is the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
