The LMP1 class was ultimately a battle between Audi and Porsche, which although closely fought, was eventually won by Porsche with their #19 car which was driven by Earl Bamber, Nick Tandy and Nico Hulkenberg which completed 395 laps. This wasn’t the only success for Porsche as their #17 car driven by Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley and Mark Webber finished second.
The #7 Audi of Andre Lotterer, Marcel Fassler and Benoit Treluyer claimed the final podium spot.
KCMG won the LMP2 class having completed 358 laps ahead of Jota Sport and G-Drive Racing’s #26 car.
The GTE Pro class was won by Corvette Racing who managed 337 laps, ahead of AF Corse. Lastly in the GTE Am class, SMP Racing won, completing 332 laps ahead of Dempsey-Proton Racing.
The next round in the World Endurance Championship will be the 6 hours of Nurburgring which takes place in late August.
