Moto3 Japanese Grand Prix Review

Going into the Japanese GP weekend the Moto3 category was by far the most enticing with 22 points separating the top 3 riders in the Championship.

Championship leader, Luis Salom was involved in an incident with Isaac Vinales early in the race, he managed to continue but eventually crashed out by his own accord. This meant that Salom was potentially going to go into the final round of the championship 20 points behind Alex Rins who was at the time running in the top 3, with other title contender, Maverick Vinales running in a podium position, improving his title chances.

Salom’s adventures were however not the last for the title contenders, with Alex Rins crashing in the latter stages of the race before rejoining, finishing out of the points. This meant that the gap between Salom and Rins stays at 5 points going into the final round at Valencia. With Rins’ teammate, Alex Marquez winning Sunday’s race, Maverick Vinales had to settle for 2nd place, which now leaves him 2 points behind Salom.
